Librarian Book Club: The Princess in Black

Librarian Book Club is back! Today we're talking about a fun book that mixes two of our favorite things: princesses and superheros.

Do you have a kid whose reading level is stuck between easy books and novels? It can be difficult to find a book that bridges that gap. But have no fear: Shannon & Dean Hale's series "The Princess in Black" is here for the rescue! This series' design helps meet the needs of developing readers with easy text and illustrations done in a chapter book format to help guide your reader to he next level.

Don't let the word "princess" in the title throw you off: This is a great pick for both girls and boys. Try it out...

It's that time again! Our schedule of new Homeschool Programs for the new year is here! After seeing the results of our survey, we've come up with programs that best suit your needs as homeschoolers. Holiday highlights include:

• Batman, Raven, and Deadpool are stopping by for a holiday hello. Meet them, have your photo taken,and much more on Saturday, December 17 at 12:30 pm!
• Sing your favorite carols at a very special Sing-Along Storytime featuring your favorite holiday songs! Thursday, December 15 at 4 pm!
• Celebrate the season at our Winter Party full of crafts and activities on Wednesday, December 21 at 4 pm!
• Need something to do on your winter break? Stop in to watch new movie releases at the library December 27-29 at 2 pm!

Babies Need Words

Just a reminder: Even though your baby doesn't talk yet doesn't mean he or she doesn't need to hear you talk, sing, or read. 

Puppet Kits!

An exciting new addition to our library collection: puppet kits! Parents, teachers, and librarians (or just your average puppet fan!) can add some fun to bedtime stories and classes with our puppet kits featuring both storybooks and non-fiction books!

Kids Vote!

Did you vote in the election yet? No, not that election. Our election! Kids will get to decide one of the most brutal political battles of our time:

Voting starts at Crafty Corner on November 2 at 4 pm. Read the arguments for each pastry and vote for your favorite.
